CASE STUDY
From Unorganized Records to Clear Financial Reporting
A real bookkeeping project showing how financial activity was organized in QuickBooks Online and turned into clear, structured financial reporting.
THE CHALLENGE
The client needed a reliable Profit & Loss report, but there was no QuickBooks Online file in place to produce one from. Before meaningful financial reporting could be provided, the bookkeeping foundation had to be built first.
THE WORK
I organized the financial activity in QuickBooks Online and structured the accounts to better reflect how the business operates.
Income, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses were properly separated instead of grouping transactions into broad categories. The reporting structure included areas such as sales and fees, project and production costs, contractor expenses, software subscriptions, and other operating expenses.
THE RESULT
The client received an organized full-year Profit & Loss report that provided a clearer view of the business’s revenue, direct costs, operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
